YT27 Rock Drills: Essential Pre-Operation ChecklistUnderstanding Pneumatic Rock Drills: A Comprehensive Overview
2. Conduct a thorough inspection by tapping the roof near the working face to identify and address any live or loose rocks present on the roof and second gang, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
3. Prepare the working surface by leveling the flat shell hole location in advance to ensure stability and prevent any slippage or displacement during the rock drilling process.
4. Always prioritize safety with wet rock drilling. Avoid dry drilling at all costs. Activate the water flow before the air when operating, and reverse the order when ceasing drilling. Begin with a low-speed operation when opening the hole, reaching full speed only after achieving a certain depth.
5. For safety reasons, drillers must refrain from wearing gloves during drilling operations.
6. When employing the air leg for drilling, maintain an appropriate stance and position. Avoid using body pressure to enhance force, and never stand in front of the rock drill beneath the working brazing rod to prevent potential injuries from broken brazing.
7. Halt operations if any unusual sounds or water discharges are detected during rock drilling. Investigate the cause, address the issue, and only then resume drilling to ensure efficiency and safety.
8. During retraction of the rock drill or replacement of the brazing rod, operate the drill slowly and remain vigilant about the position of the rock drill braze for optimal control and precision.
