1. Thoroughly check all components, including the rock drill, support bracket, or cart. Ensure they are in perfect condition, well-lubricated, and that both wind and water pathways are unobstructed. Securely connect all joints for seamless operation.
2. Conduct a safety inspection of the roof near your work area for any loose or shifting rocks. Address and stabilize these hazards to create a secure environment before commencement.
3. Confirm the workspace surface is level to eliminate risks of slippage or instability during drilling activities.
4. Always perform wet drilling to enhance efficiency and safety. Begin with water to minimize dust, followed by wind for optimal performance. When halting, reverse this sequence. Start drilling at a low velocity and switch to full power upon reaching a certain depth.
5. For safety reasons, operators should refrain from wearing gloves during the operation of the drill.
