YT27 rock drills before use:What is a pneumatic rock drill?
2. Secure safety by tapping on the roof near your working face. Check for any unstable or loose rocks on the roof and in the immediate vicinity. Address any hazards promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
3. Prepare the flat shell hole site adequately by pounding it flat beforehand. This precaution helps to avert slippage or displacement of the shell holes during the drilling process.
4. Avoid the peril of drilling dry. Always insist on wet rock drilling by initiating water flow before the wind when operating. Similarly, turn off the wind before stopping the water to maintain safety. Begin drilling at a low speed for initial penetration before transitioning to full speed once a sufficient depth is achieved.
5. Drillers must abstain from wearing gloves during drilling operations to ensure maximum safety and dexterity.
6. When employing the air leg for hole drilling, maintain proper posture and positioning. Refrain from using your body for added pressure and never position yourself in front of the rock drill during operation to avoid injury from potential brazing rod breakages.
7. Should you detect any abnormal sounds or irregular water discharge during rock drilling, halt the machine immediately for inspection. Identify and rectify the issue before resuming your drilling endeavors.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, operate the rock drill at a reduced speed and remain vigilant about the brazing position to ensure safety and precision.
