Before deploying the YT27 rock drills:Understanding a Pneumatic Rock Drill
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof near the work area by knocking to detect any live or loose rocks on the roof and nearby second gang. Implement necessary treatments to address these concerns.
3. Ensure the drilling surface is pre-leveled before commencing any rock drilling. This precaution prevents slippage or displacement at the shell hole site, thereby ensuring effective and safe operations.
4. Strict adherence to wet rock drilling is essential; refrain from dry drilling. Initiate operations by turning on the water, followed by the wind. Conversely, cease operations by first turning off the wind, then the water. Begin drilling at a reduced speed, increasing to full speed only after reaching a certain depth for optimal safety and efficiency.
5. Drillers must refrain from wearing gloves during the drilling process to maintain safety and control.
6. When employing the air leg for drilling, maintain correct posture and positioning. Avoid using body weight for pressure, and never position yourself in front of the rock drill while the work brazing rod is in action to prevent injuries from potential breakages.
7. If you detect abnormal sounds or irregular water discharge during rock drilling, immediately halt the machine for inspection. Identify and resolve the issue before resuming drilling operations.
8. When retracting the rock drill or changing the brazing rod, operate the rock drill slowly and maintain awareness of the rock drill braze's position to ensure smooth and safe transitions.
