Prior to Operating the YT29A Rock Drill:
1. Ensure that each component, including the rock drill, bracket, or rock drill cart, is complete and excellently lubricated. Verify that wind and water passages are unobstructed and that all connection joints are securely fastened.
2. Examine the roof near the work area for any hazardous live or loose rocks. Address and resolve any potential dangers before commencing operations.
3. Confirm that the work surface is level before beginning to drill. This precaution is essential to prevent slippage or the shifting of equipment.
4. It's crucial to drill with water to prevent dry drilling. Start operations with water, then proceed with wind. At shutdown, reverse the sequence. Initially, drill at low speed and transition to full speed once a significant depth is achieved.
5. Operators must refrain from wearing gloves during operation to maintain optimal safety.
6. Focus on maintaining proper posture and position when utilizing the air leg. Avoid using body pressure and do not stand directly in front of the rock drill to prevent injuries from broken brazing rods.
7. If unfamiliar noises or unexpected water discharge occurs, promptly halt the machine. Conduct a thorough inspection and rectify the issue before continuing operations.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, proceed with slow operation. Always be mindful of the brazing rod's position to ensure safety.
