Pre-Operational Checklist for the Rock Drill:
1. Conduct a thorough inspection of all components, including the rock drill, bracket, and rock drill cart. Ensure they are intact and meticulously lubricated. Confirm the wind and water pathways are unobstructed, and secure all connection joints to guarantee optimal functionality.
2. Carefully examine the roof near the working face for any live or loose rocks. Address and rectify any potential hazards to ensure a safe and stable environment before commencing operations.
3. Verify that the working surface is completely flat and stable prior to drilling. This precaution helps prevent any potential slippage or displacement during the drilling process.
4. To maintain safety and efficiency, always conduct drilling operations with water to prevent dry drilling. Begin the process with water, followed by wind when operating, and reverse the sequence when halting the operation. Start at a low speed, gradually progressing to full speed once a desired depth is achieved.
5. For safety reasons, operators must refrain from wearing gloves while handling the drill.
6. Pay careful attention to your standing posture and positioning when utilizing the air leg. Avoid applying pressure with your body and steer clear of standing directly in front of the rock drill to prevent injury from any broken brazing rods.
7. Should any abnormal sounds or unexpected water discharge occur, immediately cease operations, conduct a thorough inspection, and address the issue before resuming the drilling process.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, proceed slowly and maintain vigilant awareness of the brazing rod's position to ensure safety.
