Before Using the Rock Drill:
1. Prior to operation, ensure the comprehensive examination of all components, including the rock drill, bracket, or rock drill cart. Confirm that each part is intact, impeccably lubricated, and that wind and water pathways are unobstructed. Secure all connection joints firmly to guarantee optimal performance.
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof area near the working face for any potentially hazardous live or loose rocks. Address and rectify any issues prior to commencing operations to ensure safety.
3. Verify that the working surface is completely flat before drilling. This precaution helps prevent undesirable slippage or displacement that could affect precision and safety during the drilling process.
4. Always engage in wet drilling by using water to eliminate the risks associated with dry drilling. Initiate operations with water followed by wind, and reverse this order when halting operations. Begin drilling at a low speed, transitioning to full speed only after reaching a sufficient depth to ensure control and accuracy.
5. For safety, operators must refrain from wearing gloves while handling the drill to maintain dexterity and reduce the risk of accidents.
6. Maintain a vigilant awareness of your standing posture and position during usage of the air leg. Avoid exerting pressure using your body and never stand directly in front of the rock drill. This precaution is crucial to prevent potential injuries from broken brazing rods.
7. Should any abnormal noises or unexpected water discharge occur, immediately cease operations. Perform an inspection to identify and resolve the issue before resuming, ensuring continued safety and functionality.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, proceed with caution. Operate the drill at a slow pace and exercise careful attention to the brazing rod's position to avoid mishaps.
