Securely fasten all connection joints, and verify that both air and water pathways are unobstructed and operating efficiently.
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof area adjacent to the working face. Identify any live or loose rocks and rectify these potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment before commencing operations.
3. Verify that the working surface is completely flat before beginning the drilling process. This precaution helps avert any risk of the drill slipping or becoming misaligned during operation.
4. Always incorporate water into your drilling process to prevent dry drilling conditions. Initiate operations with water followed by air, ensuring a smooth start. Conversely, when stopping, cease air flow first and then water. Begin at a controlled, low speed and transition to full speed gradually, only once an adequate depth has been achieved.
5. It is critical that drill operators refrain from wearing gloves while maneuvering the equipment, as this could compromise control and safety.
6. Maintain an optimal standing posture and strategic positioning when utilizing the air leg. Avoid applying pressure with your body weight and steer clear of positioning yourself directly in front of the Rock Core Drill. This precaution mitigates the risk of injury from potential breakages of brazing rods.
7. Should you detect any unusual auditory signals or unexpected water discharge, immediately halt the machine's operation. Conduct a thorough inspection to diagnose and resolve the issue prior to resuming activity.
8. When it becomes necessary to retract the rock drill or replace the brazing rod, proceed with cautious deliberation. Operate the drill at a reduced speed and remain acutely aware of the brazing rod's position to ensure safety.
