2. Prior to commencing, examine the roof adjacent to the working face for any loose or unstable rocks. Address any potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
3. Confirm that the working surface is level and stable before starting the drilling process to prevent any unintended slippage or shifting.
4. It is crucial to drill with water to prevent dry drilling. Initiate the operation with water flow, followed by wind. When concluding, reverse the sequence by stopping the wind first. Begin drilling at a low speed, and once a certain depth is reached, transition to full speed for efficient operation.
5. Safety first: Operators must refrain from wearing gloves to ensure unrestricted control and to prevent accidents.
6. Maintain awareness of your stance and positioning while using the air leg. Avoid applying pressure with your body and refrain from standing directly in front of the rock drill to mitigate the risk of injury from broken brazing rods.
7. Should any abnormal sounds or unexpected water discharge occur, immediately cease operation. Conduct a thorough inspection and rectify any issues before resuming to ensure smooth and safe drilling.
