Before Using the Rock Drill:
1. Thoroughly inspect all components, including the rock drill, bracket, or rock drill cart, ensuring they are intact and exceptionally well-lubricated. Verify the smoothness of wind and water pathways, and confirm that all connection joints are securely fastened.
2. Carefully examine the roof near the working face for any live or loose rocks and address these potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment before commencing operations.
3. Confirm that the working surface is impeccably flat prior to drilling, as this prevents any slippage or displacement, ensuring precision and safety during the drilling process.
4. Consistently employ water during drilling to prevent dry operations. Initiate with water followed by wind, and reverse the sequence when ceasing. Begin at a low velocity, transitioning to full speed as the desired drilling depth is reached.
5. For safety, drillers should refrain from wearing gloves while operating the equipment.
6. Maintain an attentive stance and posture when using the air leg. Avoid applying body pressure or standing directly in front of the rock drill to prevent injury from any potential broken brazing rods.
7. If you detect any unusual sounds or water discharge, stop the machine immediately. Conduct an inspection and resolve any issues before resuming operations.
8. During the withdrawal of the rock drill or replacement of the brazing rod, proceed with caution, operating the drill at a slow pace and being mindful of the brazing rod's position to ensure safety and precision.
