YT27 rock drills before use:What is a pneumatic rock drill?
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof area adjacent to the working surface. Tap gently to detect any unstable or loose rocks, especially near the second gang close to the work area. Undertake necessary stabilization measures.
3. Ensuring a smooth start, the flat shell hole surface must be pre-flattened effectively before commencing rock drilling operations. This preventive measure combats slippage or undesired displacement of the shell hole.
4. Uphold the highest standards of safety by prohibiting dry drilling. Commit to a regimen of wet rock drilling by first activating the water supply followed by the wind when you start, and reversing the order when concluding. Initiate the drilling process at a cautious low speed, escalating to full speed only after achieving a suitable depth.
5. As a stringent safety protocol, drill operators are not permitted to wear gloves during drilling activities.
6. When employing the air leg for hole drilling, it's crucial to maintain a proper standing posture and position. Refrain from exerting pressure using your body or positioning yourself directly in front of the rock drill beneath the working brazing rod to avoid potential injury from malfunction.
7. Should you identify any irregular sounds or water discharge during drilling, cease operations immediately. Conduct a thorough inspection to diagnose and rectify the underlying issue before resuming the process.
8. In the event of retracting the rock drill or substituting the brazing rod, proceed with the rock drill at a gentle pace and remain attentive to the precise positioning of the rock drill braze.
