Before Using the Rock Drill: Essential Safety and Preparation Guidelines
1. Ensure every component, including the rock drill, bracket, or rock drill cart, is immaculate and thoroughly lubricated. Confirm seamless airflow and water passageways, and fortify all connection joints securely.
2. Vigilantly inspect the roof near the operational face for any potential hazards like live or loose rocks. Address and rectify any issues proactively before commencing work.
3. Guarantee that the working surface is impeccably flat to prevent any slippage or dislocation while drilling.
4. Commit to drilling with water to eliminate dry drilling risks. Initiate operations with water, followed by wind for optimal function, and reverse this sequence when concluding. Begin at a moderate speed and transition to full speed after reaching an appropriate depth.
5. Operators must refrain from wearing gloves during operation for safety reasons.
6. Maintain a vigilant stance and position when utilizing the air leg. Avoid exerting body pressure and never position yourself directly in front of the rock drill to avert injuries from shattered brazing rods.
7. In the event of unusual noises or unexpected water discharge, cease the operation immediately, conduct a thorough inspection, and resolve any issues before resuming.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, proceed with caution, operating the drill slowly and attentively monitoring the brazing rod's position.
