YT27 rock drills before use:What is a pneumatic rock drill?
2. As a precaution, tap the roof near the working face to check for any loose or unstable rocks. This is crucial to prevent any accidents caused by falling debris. Necessary measures should be taken to stabilize these areas.
3. Prepare the working surface by ensuring the flat shell hole is properly leveled before beginning the drilling operation. This step is vital to prevent any slippage or displacement during drilling, thereby ensuring precision and safety.
4. To maintain safety and efficiency, always avoid drilling dry. Insist on using wet rock drilling techniques. Begin operations by turning on the water flow first, followed by the wind. When ceasing drilling, reverse this order by turning off the wind first, and then the water. Start drilling at a low speed initially, and increase to full speed as the drill reaches a certain depth.
5. For safety reasons, drillers must refrain from wearing gloves while operating the drill. This rule is crucial to ensure better control and prevent accidents.
6. When using the air leg for drilling, maintain a proper posture and position. Never apply pressure using your body, and avoid standing directly in front of the rock drill as it engages with the work brazing rod. This precaution helps prevent injuries from potential brazing breaks.
7. Should you encounter any abnormal sounds or irregular water discharge during the drilling process, immediately halt operations. Inspect the machinery thoroughly, identify the cause, and address it before resuming work.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, allow the rock drill to run slowly. Ensure to monitor the positioning of the rock drill braze carefully to avoid any mishaps.
