Before Using the Rock Drill:
1. Ensure that every component, such as the rock drill, bracket, or rock drill cart, is intact and properly lubricated. Verify that the wind and water passages are unobstructed and that all connection joints are firmly secured.
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof near the working face for any live or loose rocks, addressing any potential hazards to ensure safety before commencing operations.
3. Confirm that the working surface is flat and stable before you begin drilling. This precaution helps prevent any accidental slippage or displacement that could disrupt operations.
4. Always use water to facilitate drilling and prevent the dangers of dry drilling. Initiate the drilling process with water, then introduce wind. When stopping, reverse the order by cutting wind first, followed by water. Start at a low speed, switching to full speed as you reach deeper layers.
5. For safety reasons, operators must refrain from wearing gloves during the drill's operation to ensure maximum control and responsiveness.
6. Maintain an appropriate standing posture and position when utilizing the air leg. Never use your body to apply pressure, and avoid standing directly in front of the rock drill to minimize the risk of injury from broken brazing rods.
7. If the machine emits abnormal sounds or discharges water unexpectedly, halt operations immediately. Conduct a comprehensive inspection and rectify the issue before resuming work.
8. Exercise caution when withdrawing the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod. Operate the drill at a slow pace, paying close attention to the position of the brazing rod to ensure safe handling.
